I purchased this sampler at a Dutch auction house last year. The colours on the sampler (and the photo that came with the listing) looked suspiciously bright, and at first, I thought this was a new sampler or at the very least, a sampler from the mid-18-hundreds. But it turned out to be a genuine 18th-century sampler worked by a girl in the Netherlands in 1785, probably in or around Amsterdam.
